To help children in Japan who were affected by the earthquake, the tsunami and the radioactive pollution in Fukushima/Tohoku, Toko Shiiki and Nino Trentinella created the Dragon Project.

2012 is the year of the dragon – a guardian, a ruler of oceans and a symbol of transformation, victory and wealth. The Dragon Project is an international, collaborative endeavor to showcase all the artwork created by the participants in fundraiser exhibitions around the world. The first fundraiser exhibition was held on March 11th, 2012 (one year anniversary of the disaster) at the Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA; and the second exhibition was held at Paris College of Art in Paris, France in September-November, 2012.

Anyone can contribute to the creation of the dragon. If you are interested in joining this project, please follow the rules to create your part of the dragon. We will then join all the artworks together to make a long dragon which will be exhibited at Fundraiser art exhibitions around the world (TBA). Also, with the support from
blurb, we made books with all the submitted artwork and hope to make more as the project grows.

ALL money raised through the fundraisers and the sale of books will be sent to the Fukushima Children’s Fund and Living Dreams and used to help buy food radiation detectors, provide material support such as clothing and footware, create monitoring stations and construct a rest home for the child victims.

Let's make a long dragon together!

Love,

Toko & Nino
